My wallet got stolen today...
I had been out with a friend, catching a movie and getting a few beers afterwards. I saw her off on the bus at ten to one AM. I hadn't had any dinner, so I decided to stop by Burger King on my way home. I pay for my burger with my Visa card, sit down and eat it while I also talk on the phone with my friend to make sure she got home okay. When I get up to go out and find a bus or a train home, I routinely check my pockets.
The wallet isn't there.
I check the table I was sitting at. No wallet. I check the floor. No wallet. I look in the garbage can I just emptied my tray in. Except for what I just dumped in there, it's empty. No wallet. I check the floor, chair, and table again. Still no wallet. I ask the people behind the register if they or someone else has found a wallet. No luck. No wallet.
I do the above three times.
Of course, I may have just dropped it, and somebody picked it up. If so, they don't have the code for my Visa card, which is good.
More likely, however, is the possibility that a pickpocket managed to peak at my code while I was paying for my burger, and then somehow (and I have no clue how!!!) stole my wallet.
At 1:18, I call the number to have access to my cards shut off. At 1:20, that is a done job.
That's 25 minutes, potentially, that somebody may have had full control over my money.
Luckily, there was no cash in my wallet. There was a driver's license, my bank cards, my social security card and my bus card. That'll cost me about €200 to get renewed. And it's too soon to see yet what money, if any, has been withdrawn from my account. I'll found out on Monday at the earliest.
No matter what, I have insurance, and that's bound to cover part of my loss, if not all of it, which I doubt. But not knowing is killing me, and I have no way to find out until Monday. At the earliest.
...
No wallet.

lol..
I'm not going to link to it here, though, just in case it gets popular. My website is hosted for free by a friend, and I don't think he'd appreciate it.
